Tehran: If Israel targets Iran’s nuclear facilities, it would be the biggest historical mistake, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in an interview with Al Jazeera, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Araghchi highlighted the complexity involved in attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. He stated that these facilities, which are scattered across Iran, are well-protected, making any attack almost impossible. Araghchi emphasized that both the United States and Israel are aware of the potential targets Iran would retaliate against, suggesting that an all-out war could erupt in the region as a result, an outcome no one desires.
Araghchi further clarified Iran’s stance on nuclear weapons. He stated that Iran does not currently possess nuclear weapons and while the capability to produce them exists, there is no desire to do so. He expressed his belief that the United States is unlikely to make a decision to attack, given the potential consequences.
