Azerbaijan and Iran Engage in Military Cooperation Talks.


Tehran: A delegation from the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense visited Tehran to partake in discussions at the Joint Commission on Military and Military-Technical Cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense and Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces. This was confirmed by Azerbaijan MoD to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Major General Farid Aliyev, acting Chief of the Main Department of Military-Technical Supply. He held a bilateral meeting with Brigadier General Mohammadreza Ashtiani, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. The meeting focused on evaluating the current status and future possibilities of military cooperation between the two nations, with both parties sharing insights on mutual areas of interest.

Subsequent to the bilateral meeting, the Joint Commission convened to delve into detailed discussions about the ongoing cooperation between the military institutions of Azerbaijan and Iran. The dialogue also aimed at pinpoint
ing new areas for collaboration and broadening the scope of future military-technical engagements.

The discussions culminated in the signing of a protocol that outlined the agreed-upon areas of cooperation.
