Azerbaijan Army Positions Fired Upon from Basarkechar Direction


Baku: Azerbaijan Army positions came under fire from the Basarkechar region on March 19. The incident occurred at approximately 14:15 when Armenian armed forces units, stationed near the Gunashli settlement, used small arms to target Azerbaijan’s military positions, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense provided to APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Defense reported that the firing incident was initiated by Armenian armed forces from their positions in the direction of the Basarkechar region. The Azerbaijan Army positions were targeted specifically from the area near the Gunashli settlement. The use of small arms was confirmed in the attack, which happened in the afternoon hours.



The report highlighted the ongoing tensions in the region, which have seen such incidents occur intermittently. The Ministry of Defense did not provide further details on any casualties or damage resulting from the firing. The situation remains tense, with both sides maintaining a military presence in the region.
