Baku: Azerbaijan has announced a significant reduction in the excise duty rates for motor gasoline and diesel. The excise duty for motor gasoline, specifically excluding aviation gasoline and with a lead content not exceeding 0.013 g/l and an octane number of less than 95, has been decreased from AZN 200 per ton to AZN 1. This reduction will remain in effect until June 1, 2025.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers. The revised excise duty rate also applies to other types of gasoline, including diesel fuel, which have seen their rates reduced from AZN 80 per ton to AZN 1. This change is similarly set to last until June 1, 2025.
