Baku: Azerbaijan has announced plans to lease agricultural lands near residential areas in liberated territories to local residents under preferential terms. This initiative, aimed at supporting the agricultural development of these regions, was formalized through an amendment to the law “On Land Lease,” which was recently approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendment specifies that agricultural lands in these territories will be leased to residents of villages and settlements for both annual and perennial crops. These leases will be governed by terms set by an institution designated by the relevant executive authority. Additionally, the law outlines that agricultural lands will also be made available to business entities through investment competitions, as regulated by the same designated body.
