Azerbaijani Ambassador presents his credentials to President of Honduras

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Honduras Mammad Talibov has presented his credentials to the country's President Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento. Ambassador Mammad Talibov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's greetings to the President of Honduras. President Xiomara Castro expressed her gratitude and asked to convey her greetings to the President of Azerbaijan. The sides hailed the regular contacts, mutually beneficial cooperation, and fruitful dialogue between Azerbaijan and Honduras in bilateral format, international organizations, including the Non-Aligned Movement, adding that there is a potential for cooperation between the two countries in such areas as interparliamentary ties, culture, education, as well as trade and economic, mutual investments and humanitarian spheres. The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan commends Honduras for its position, based on international law, regarding the Armenian occupation of the internationally recognized Azerbaijani territories that had lasted for many years. President Xiomara Castro praised Azerbaijan's successful NAM chairmanship, expressing her country's interest in further enhancing friendship and cooperation with Azerbaijan, and wished Ambassador Talibov success in his future activity. Ambassador Talibov also met with Honduran Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Gerardo Torres Zelaya.
