Baku: Azerbaijani Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, recently met with Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force. The meeting took place during the Bahraini official’s working visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Colonel General Hasanov expressed his satisfaction with the visit and thanked Bahrain for its humanitarian aid and support in international forums during Azerbaijan’s 44-day Patriotic War. The war concluded with a significant victory for the Azerbaijan Army, and the minister acknowledged Bahrain’s role in supporting this outcome.

Field Marshal Al Khalifa reciprocated the warm sentiments, expressing appreciation for the hospitality extended to him. He underscored the importance of such visits in enhancing bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bahrain.

The discussions between the leaders covered a range of topics, including the current state of military relations, the potential for expanded cooperation in military education, and regional security issues.
