Baku: Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Director General Mr. Agil Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, undertook an official visit to Qatar, as announced by the Minister of Defense to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation began their visit with a tour of the Military Air Academy of the Armed Forces of Qatar at the Al Udeid Air Base. They familiarized themselves with the facilities and the ongoing educational programs at the academy.

The delegation subsequently engaged in a meeting with H. E. Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs of Qatar. The meeting, led by Director General Mr. Agil Gurbanov, involved discussions on mutual interests, the current state of bilateral cooperation, and potential areas for further collaboration.

Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, along with several high-ranking officers and officials from both countries, participated in the discussions. The Azerbaijani delegation also visited Barzan Holdings, a Qatari defense company, where they met with the leadership to explore opportunities for military-technical cooperation.
