BAKU: Azerbaijani judoka Eljan Hajiyev has been taken to a Paris hospital due to an injury sustained by the Azerbaijani athlete at the Olympic Games, Trend reports via Idman.biz.

Hajiyev injured his arm at the end of his 1/8 finals match against French athlete Maxime-Gaël Ngayap Hambou, leaving the tatami with the assistance of medical personnel. The severity of the injury will be determined after further examination.

To note, Eljan Hajiyev won his first bout at the Olympics against Michael Zganga (Turkey) but later lost to the French athlete.
