The Azerbaijan national U18 volleyball team will test their strength at the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) Championship to be held in the city of Daugavpils, Latvia. Azerbaijan to take on Latvia on Day 1 of the competition. A 14-member Azerbaijani team, led by Sahin Catma, will also play against volleyball teams of Georgia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland. The championship will last until November 26. EEVZA was founded back in 2005 in Jurmala (Latvia) by seven countries, including Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Ukraine. Azerbaijan and Georgia all joined EEVZA at a later stage. EEVZA aim at developing Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in the Eastern European region, with a focus on youth and the grassroots level, while promoting a good collaboration and friendship between all member federations.
