Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Discovers 94 Landmines and 294 UXOs in Liberated Territories


Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has announced the discovery of 94 landmines and 294 unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in recently liberated territories during the week of February 3 to February 9, 2025. ANAMA conveyed this information to APA, highlighting ongoing efforts to secure these areas.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, ANAMA’s operations led to the identification of 78 anti-personnel mines and 16 anti-tank mines across several regions, including Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan. The agency’s work also resulted in the clearance of approximately 787,026.8 hectares of land from mines and UXOs, contributing to the safety and accessibility of these areas.
