British Envoy Urges Urgent Reforms in Climate Financing at COP29.


London: “We must accelerate the ongoing reforms in climate funds,” Rachel Kyte, the UK’s Special Representative on Climate, stated during a press conference at COP29. Her remarks underscore the urgent need for a consensus on the Paris Agreement’s provisions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kyte emphasized the United Kingdom’s readiness to support global efforts, particularly in achieving the New Collective Quantified Goal. She highlighted the necessity for this goal to be expansive, ambitious, and feasible, ensuring it can harness significant financial opportunities. Kyte further stressed the importance of reforming international financial institutions and multilateral climate funds to meet these objectives effectively.
