Shamkir: A devastating road accident occurred in Shamkir, Azerbaijan, claiming the lives of five individuals. The collision, involving a “NIVA” vehicle and a “VAZ 2106” passenger car, took place on the section of the Baku-Gazakh highway that passes through the Gazakh district. The incident unfolded early today, around 00:05, leading to immediate fatalities before medical assistance could arrive.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the accident resulted in the hospitalization of a 1996-born male, identified as E. Orujov. He was admitted to the Emergency Department of Shamkir District Central Hospital with injuries, including scraped wounds on his nose, forehead, crown area, and the upper surface of both hands. After receiving necessary first aid, and given his satisfactory condition, he was discharged for outpatient treatment.
The identities of the deceased have been confirmed. The victims include Kh. Aliyev, the driver of the “VAZ 2106” car, and his passenger, R. Allahverdiyev, born in 1997. The “NIVA” car’s driver, Z. Jabbarov, and his passenger, E. Khudaverdiyev, born in 1972, also lost their lives. Additionally, another male, aged between 35-40 years, died at the scene.
The tragic accident highlights the severe consequences of road incidents and underscores the need for heightened road safety measures in the region.
