Baku: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an order on December 5, awarding a group of individuals for their contributions to promoting the realities of Western Azerbaijan, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Fikrat Ahmadali oglu Aliyev was conferred the ‘Shohrat’ (Glory) Order, while Dilara Baghir gizi Seyidzade and Vagif Bilas oglu Shadlinski were presented with the “Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Additionally, Hasan Zal oglu Hasanov was granted a personal presidential stipend.

These awards recognize the recipients’ effective efforts in defending the rights of the indigenous population of Western Azerbaijan, who were displaced due to Armenia’s ethnic cleansing policy. The honorees have been instrumental in promoting the material and cultural heritage created in those territories, bringing attention to the historical and ongoing issues faced by the Azerbaijani communities in the region.
