Kyrgyzstan notes growth in its consolidated budget


BISHKEK: The volume of the consolidated budget in Kyrgyzstan has doubled in the last three years, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said at a meeting of the board of the Presidential Administration, Trend reports.

According to him, while the consolidated budget of the country was 247.7 billion soms ($2.9 billion) in 2020, it had risen to 577.2 billion soms ($6.8 billion) by 2023.

Japarov highlighted that innovations in fiscal policy are being introduced.

‘There has also been significant progress in the use of cash registers, with their number now exceeding 100,000 devices – an increase of sixfold over the past three years. We will continue this policy,’ he emphasized.

It was noted that starting July 1, 2024, Kyrgyzstan will no longer permit trading activities based on a patent.

Japarov stated that efforts to promote both internal and external investments will be intensified, emphasizing that the development of the industrial sector is a priority.

He mentioned that at least 100 new
enterprises are planned to be established as part of the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kirghiz autonomous region. Since the beginning of 2024, 29 enterprises have already been launched.

‘Major projects, such as the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad, are underway. Maintaining the current pace requires professionalism, a creative approach, and strict discipline,’ the chairman added.
