Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Mevlt Çavusoglu, the former Foreign Minister of Trkiye, who is currently a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and head of the delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Mevlt Çavusoglu conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Azerbaijani President.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and requested Mevlt Çavusoglu to extend his greetings to Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Azerbaijani President also expressed his appreciation for Mevlt Çavusoglu’s participation in the International Conference organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community in Baku and emphasized the importance of the event.
Mevlt Çavusoglu highlighted the significance of the conference and expressed gratitude for the invitation. He congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the victory of the New Azerbaijan Party in this year’s parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. Moreover, he co
mmended the excellent organization of COP29 hosted by Azerbaijan, describing it as a historic summit with significant decisions.
The head of state acknowledged the exemplary organization of COP29, commending the participation of a delegation led by the President of Trkiye. President Ilham Aliyev noted that Trkiye’s contribution further enhanced the importance of COP29, which saw participation from numerous heads of state, government officials, and other dignitaries. He emphasized that the conference was successful in decision-making, showcasing Azerbaijan’s potential and leadership globally, and marking another success for the Turkic world.
Both leaders praised the successful development of friendship, brotherhood, and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Trkiye in all areas, including interparliamentary cooperation, and expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of these ties in the future.
