Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has praised the volunteer movement in Azerbaijan as a testament to the successful endeavors of Azerbaijani youth working towards a common goal. ‘With the blessing of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the volunteer movement, which began gaining momentum in Azerbaijan in the 1990s, has now become an exemplary expression of commitment to national and spiritual values and service to the Motherland. It embodies the successful endeavors of Azerbaijani youth toward a common goal. Thanks to the state’s comprehensive support, the ranks of the movement are constantly expanding. It has grown steadily, achieved its current level of development, and established a presence in all spheres of public life,’ said President Ilham Aliyev in his address to the participants of the Seventh Solidarity Forum of Azerbaijani Volunteers.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the president highlighted the significance of organizing the forum within the ‘Green World Solidarity Year’. The volunteers have been ins
trumental in spreading awareness about environmental conservation and have played key roles during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, underscoring their dedication to global environmental efforts.
Following the restoration of state sovereignty and territorial integrity, Azerbaijan has embarked on a new chapter in its independence history. The president noted the volunteers’ efforts to rejuvenate life in liberated territories, aligning with youth policy principles and contributing to the country’s sustainable development through social initiatives as part of the Great Return process.
