Baku: In January-October of this year, 32,127.8 thousand tons of oil were transported through Azerbaijan’s oil pipelines, marking a 3% decrease compared to the same period last year, Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 75.3% of the transported oil was delivered via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, amounting to 24,180.3 thousand tons, which represents a 3.9% decline year-on-year. Of the oil transported via the BTC pipeline during the reporting period, 81.5% (19,704.9 thousand tons) was produced in Azerbaijan, while 18.5% (4,475.4 thousand tons) came from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, marking a 4.8% increase.
For reference, last year, 39,753.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through main oil pipelines, a 5.2% increase year-on-year. Of this, 75.9% was transported via the BTC pipeline, which accounted for 30,191.6 thousand tons of oil, a 1.49% rise compared to the previous year.
